Life for the Kehoes was perfect, until the two girls turned 12.

It was the mother, Peggy, who first found Hailey in an unconscious state, slurring words and unable to open her eyes.

The parents were scared to death seeing their beloved daughter like this. After realizing that they needed to act immediately, Jeff frantically called 911 and the 12-year-old was promptly taken to the nearby hospital. While at the hospital, the doctors discovered that the 12 year old had severe bleeding in her brain and was in dire need of medical assistance. After gaining permission from the parents to operate on the girl’s brain hemorrhage, the doctors gave them their full assurance that they would do everything they could to save her.

Thanks to the well trained staff of Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital things gradually returned to normal. Within a few days after the surgery, Hailey finally opened her eyes.
